I. JOB OVERVIEW


Job Description Summary:
The Human Resources Information Systems ( HRIS) team within Human Resources Management and Development works collaboratively to develop strategies, infrastructure, and processes that provide for the timely collection and dissemination of employee data and information, enhanced capacity for distributed reporting, and support of data-driven decision making related to human resources.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the HRIS Associate reviews, analyzes, and processes the day-to-day personnel action requests for medical residents, staff, non-student temporary and research positions as well as generating GWID numbers for the employees. This includes new benefit eligible hires submitted through our applicant tracking system ( ATS), employee life cycle changes through our position management module of the ATS, personnel action forms (PAFs), and terminations. The HRIS Associate, Business Operations may support transaction requests for faculty personnel, which includes creating benefited and non-benefited positions. The HRIS Associate also reviews and processes employment eligibility (Form I-9 and E-Verify) in accordance with Federal Government guidelines.

Additionally, the HRIS Associate performs the following job duties:
* Performs the full range of employee life-cycle changes (new hires, internal transfers, bonuses, salary changes, title changes, job duties changes, full-time/part-time changes, terminations, etc.)
* Generates GWID numbers for employees and maintains employee data records into the ERP system ( SSN, citizenship status, etc.)
* Receives, analyzes and enters employment eligibility (Form I-9 and E-Verify) data to ensure compliance with federal regulations
* Works closely with the Faculty Personnel office in creating benefited and non-benefited position numbers
* Maintains the position budget form for all positions at GW which ties a budget to a position
* Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information before data entry for accuracy, completion, and validity
* Responsible for assisting in all aspects with the medical resident onboarding (recycling positions, generating GWIDS, entering hire into ERP system, processing I-9 documents)
* Communicates and collaborates with various internal departments (HR Business Partners, Payroll, Benefits, etc.) as needed to remedy any processing issues that may arise
* Provides recommendations to HR Business Partners as well as other internal subject matter experts (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, etc.) to improve business processes
* Responsible for addressing a high volume of time sensitive system-related activities while maintaining a high level of quality and internal customer satisfaction
* Maintains and updates electronic and hard copy personnel record systems containing all employment-related information
* Ensures compliance with data privacy and safeguards personal identifying information ( PII)
* Demonstrates excellent knowledge and understanding of HR related systems, how processes are managed through the system, and assists end users
* Actively participates in quality control and process improvement activities
* Understands GW's Payroll calendar for processing both monthly and bi-weekly pay frequencies

The HRIS Associate, Business Operations also provides special project support for departmental, School, and University initiatives as requested. Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

This position is a Hybrid position. Hybrid work is defined as job functions that can be performed effectively in a combination of on- and off-campus locations. Employees may have dedicated space or typically have a personal or shared workspace assigned or available to them at an on-campus site. Employees in this category may have essential roles, duties and/or responsibilities yet have flexibility to determine how best to perform their work when and where needed. Telecommuting agreement must be implemented.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with human resource information system (ERP/HCM) such as Banner, Workday, PeopleSoft is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills to include, spreadsheet, database applications (BANNER), and MS Office Products.
  • Solid customer service and communication skills and the ability to function within a team-oriented office environment are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while focusing on attention to detail.
  • Complies with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Prior experience working in a higher education setting is preferred.

Hiring Range $23.35 - $30.39
