The Medical Engagement Director is a central strategic and leadership role within Global Medical Affairs (GMAF), leading Global and Regional Medical Affairs activities
focused on external Medical engagement initiatives to drive progress in line with the long-term strategy and the organizational roadmap. The role requires strong collaboration and strategic alignment with the Medical Unit Global Medical Leads (GMLs), GMAF Medical Excellence Lead (MEMX), and other key stakeholders among BioMarin's PKU/LSDs therapeutic area.

The Medical Engagement lead is expected to exhibit mastery-level and understanding of multiple competencies, including communication, collaboration, scientific knowledge, medical management, as well as advanced skills in strategic thinking, problem solving, business acumen, drug development, and pharmaceutical regulatory processes.

The employee will be required to undertake local and international travel 25% of their time, which will periodically include weekends.

BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
