Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$3,497.95 to $3,847.75 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Melbourne/Travels Countywide. Performs skilled professional engineering work coordinating, planning, designing, reviewing, inspecting and/or implementing assigned projects for the Public Works Department/Traffic Operations Program. May supervise subordinate staff.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related field PLUS five (5) years of experience in engineering which is related to the area of assignment OR Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field PLUS four (4) years of experience as a Brevard County Engineer I in traffic operations. Supervisory experience is preferred. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, following requirements set forth in Florida Statute 471, is preferred. Must possess a valid active Engineering Intern (E.I.) Certification from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within nine (9) months of employment, a valid Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)/Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
