The Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Fox LATAM is a multifaceted and impactful leader within the Fox law and Policy department. In addition to being a key advisor to Fox's Chief Legal and Policy Officer, they serve as a chief legal advisor to the Fox LATAM leadership team. This is a senior executive role responsible for overseeing all legal-related matters within the business unit. This includes providing strategic legal advice and counsel across a wide range of matters, including human resources and employment law, corporate transactions and due diligence, rights acquisitions, content licensing and distribution, intellectual property, litigation management, real estate, and regulatory compliance in Latin America and South America.

In this role, the General Counsel serves as a key business partner and advisor to senior leadership at Fox LATAM, helping to navigate complex legal and business issues to support the unit's goals and potential growth into Central and South America. The position is also responsible for the implementation of compliance and training programs, promoting legal and ethical standards across the organization, and mitigating legal risk through proactive guidance and internal controls. The General Counsel plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and reputation of Fox LATAM by ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

As a leader within Fox Corporation's legal team, this executive helps drive a culture of accountability, ethical behavior, and sound decision-making throughout the organization.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal Strategy & Business Advisory

  • As a member of the legal department managing a team of professionals and collaborating with the enterprise legal department
  • Serve as a strategic legal advisor to business unit leadership on key initiatives, transactions, and day-to-day operations
  • Provide practical, business-oriented legal counsel that supports commercial goals while mitigating legal risks
  • Partner with business and corporate teams to guide decisions related to content rights, licensing, distribution deals, marketing, and new business ventures

Employment and Labor Law

  • Advise Human Resources and leadership on matters related to employee relations, workplace policies, investigations, and employment law compliance
  • Support talent agreements, employment disputes, and internal code-of-conduct processes
  • Develop and update internal policies reflecting best practices and evolving legal standards

Contracting & Transactions

  • Oversee negotiation and execution of a wide range of commercial agreements, including rights acquisition, content acquisition, distribution, production, talent, technology, and vendor contracts
  • Lead a Fox LATAM compliance and legal team with due diligence and input to Fox LATAM's mergers, acquisitions, and business development efforts
  • Ensure contracts are aligned with business goals while managing exposure to legal and reputational risk, including defamation risk

Litigation Management

  • Oversee all litigation and dispute matters impacting the business unit, including employment claims, contractual disputes, and content-related issues
  • Act as the primary liaison to Fox Corporation's litigation team, coordinating with internal and external counsel to develop strategies, manage case progress, and align with corporate standards and goals
  • Ensure timely communication with business leadership regarding potential risks, case status, and resolution strategies

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

  • Provide leadership and oversight on legal and regulatory compliance within the business unit, ensuring policies and practices align with applicable laws and industry regulations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the business unit and Fox Corporation's centralized compliance and regulatory teams
  • Support implementation of enterprise-wide compliance initiatives (e.g., training, policy rollouts) and advise on localized adaptations to fit business unit operations
  • Stay informed of regulatory developments and help business stakeholders interpret and apply relevant updates within their teams

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s)
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written communication)
  • 15+ years of legal experience
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory issues in the media and entertainment industry, including content rights, employment law, and distribution
  • Familiarity with corporate governance and legal risk management
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations to business operations
  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and providing practical legal guidance
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels
  • High ethical standards and professionalism
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable under pressure
  • Committed to fostering a culture of integrity and accountability

NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • 5+ years of in-house experience for a US corporation supporting LATAM operations
  • Experience as a regulatory attorney or in a similar legal compliance role

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $352,000.00-575,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
