As an End to End Mission Critical Communication Solutions Test Engineer at Nokia, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of cutting-edge 5G systems, including User Equipment (UE), gNB, and the MCC. You'll be part of a dynamic team that collaborates closely with development engineers to identify and resolve defects, while conducting rigorous testing based on 3GPP standards. The work environment is fast-paced and innovative, where you will utilize advanced test tools and automation frameworks, making a tangible impact on mission-critical communications. Your expertise will drive interoperability testing with leading network equipment vendors and enhance our comprehensive lab testing efforts, contributing to the overarching mission of delivering robust solutions for global communication networks.   • Design and execute comprehensive test plans to validate 5G NR UE and gNB systems in SA modes.
  • Conduct rigorous protocol, performance, and functionality testing in alignment with 3GPP TS 38.xxx standards.
  • Analyze and validate Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 signaling and procedures for optimal performance.
  • Utilize advanced test tools like Keysight UXM and Rohde & Schwarz to run and document test scenarios.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects, enhancing overall product performance.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python or similar scripting languages to streamline testing processes.
  • Prepare detailed test reports and defect logs to communicate findings and support release certifications.
  • Participate in interoperability testing with network equipment vendors and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.


You have:



  • Bachelor's or Master's in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in testing 4G/5G systems, especially UE and gNB
  • Strong knowledge of 3GPP 5G NR specs (38.3xx, 38.4xx, 38.5xx)
  • Hands-on experience with commercial 5G test platforms (Keysight, R&S, Anritsu, Viavi)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash


It would be nice if you also had:



  • Experience in testing features like beamforming, carrier aggregation, and massive MIMO
  • Familiarity with Open RAN testing or O-RU/O-DU/O-CU components
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies like Docker/Kubernetes
