Flavorist Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Learn basic laboratory procedures, processes and protocols such as sample evaluation and preparation
• Prototype development of market relevant demos
• Compounding of flavors and seasonings
• Analytical measurements (pH, Karl-Fisher etc.);
• Organize and maintain lab supplies, instruments and maintenance records
• Follow laboratory safety practices and keep areas clean
• Learn how to discriminate between flavors that have similar characters through olfactive/taste skills
• Time management of projects
• Identification of safe laboratory practices
• Obtain supervisor's approval before making changes to assigned tasks

Requirements:

• Knowledgeable in lab safety and relevant chemical processes
• Has the functional and technical knowledge as well as skills to do the job with a high level of accomplishment
• College degree or an equivalent certification in Science & Technology, Chemistry or related discipline + evidence of ongoing education to obtain a BS degree
