Job Description

The North America (NA) Solution Design Team is responsible for ensuring that Visa is developing new solutions that our clients want and can successfully implement. The Senior Director of Solution Design will partner closely with product managers across Visa, taking a cross-product view towards product development. This role will work across key strategic product lines within Visa such as risk and identity, digital, and more.

We are looking for a well-rounded individual who can develop a deep understanding of client needs and market requirements and incorporate them into the product development process. A successful candidate is a seasoned leader with a strong technical background, effective communication skills, desire to design fit-for-purpose solutions based on client and market needs, and most importantly an appetite for continuous learning. This role reports to the Vice President, Solution Design and Deployment within Visa's NA Product and Solutions organization.

Essential Functions

  • Manage a team that will lead new product launches by defining and prioritizing NA-specific product requirements
  • Evaluate the technical design and strategic value proposition of in-development products against client needs and market dynamics
  • Partner closely with client-facing teams to develop strong grasp of client and market needs
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams across product development, technology, innovation and design, engineering and payment ecosystem partners in the development of applied innovations
  • Manage and assess roadmap for new solutions and product enhancements across various teams by evaluating against regional priorities
  • Provide updates to senior leadership on strategic initiatives
  • Lead project work independently and mentor more junior members of the team

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

* 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

* 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience

* Ability to articulate product value proposition to executive-level business stakeholders and also explain technical details to developer-level contacts

* Product management experience and/or experience working with business requirements, product architecture documents, and process flow diagrams

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Payments industry/fintechs/digital tech experience or similar relevant experience

* Experience with one or more of the following payments areas: digital (e.g. e-commerce, tokenization), authentication & identity, and/or risk (e.g., fraud prevention, risk scoring)

* Excellent facilitator and moderator with strong communication skills and a desire to work collaboratively with a wide set of stakeholders

* Proven ability to work on complex and often ambiguous problems in a fast-paced environment

* Self-starter with a disposition to work independently with a commitment to detail in an organized manner

* 15+ years work experience with a bachelor's degree, 12+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD), or 5+ years of work experience with a PhD

* Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environment

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 213,000.00 to 332,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
