Job Description

Job Summary

The Clinical Informatics Specialist reports to the Associate CNIO and is directly responsible for supporting the integration of clinical informatics with system-wide technology strategies. This role is responsible for improving clinical operations and technology, supporting the implementation and optimization of electronic medical records (EMR) and other technology, ensuring ongoing content management for clinical workflows and documentation, and providing end user support.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Work with end users to utilize and improve clinical processes and help integrate technology solutions across the organization
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of documentation and decision support tools to ensure consistency across the system
  • Support the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of EMR systems and other technology, focusing on best practices and evidence-based workflows
  • Provide input on linking practice guidelines and other evidence-based concepts to electronic records
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration, and take on project leadership role as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and the latest nursing informatics research
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

Knowledge of computer and database development

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to think creatively and solve problems

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Sharepoint, and Teams

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

BSN Required MSN or Masters in relevant field Preferred

AND

Experience:

2+ years nursing experience required

Previous informatics experience preferred

Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

RN License
