The Senior Vice President, Senior Credit Officer oversees the entire credit underwriting function of the Bank to include Commercial Real Estate, Corporate C&I, Business Banking, Private Banking, Residential Mortgage, and Consumer Lending. This position manages the analysis of proposed credits and performs other credit administrative related functions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or relative field required. Will consider commensurate experience. MBA preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in credit related positions with medium to large banks or financial services firms with a minimum of 7 years of management required.

Extensive experience underwriting, structuring and approving complex commercial real estate and Corporate C&I deals required.

Extensive experience writing and managing credit and lending policies and ensuring that all areas of the Bank adhere to said policies.

Prior experience communicating with Bank regulators during and after examinations, and providing adequate and timely follow-up of Matters Requiring Attention when necessary.

Establish departmental procedures and oversee risk management/ compliance processes pertinent to credit policy and changing regulations.

Documented ability to communicate and lead change at multiple levels of an organization.

Experience monitoring and reporting on the Bank's credit quality trends and rising areas of risk to both senior management and board committees.

Ability to manage a team of employees with a broad range of experience and technical skills.

Ability to work with a variety of internal and external contacts to manage credit risk, compliance and exposure while meeting both the Bank's and the customer's needs.

Ability to manually prepare and present concisely written and/or oral reports to management.

Extensive experience with implementing and utilizing a comprehensive commercial and retail loan origination system to include setting up and utilizing its reporting capabilities.

Extensive experience managing process, procedure and system change resulting from bank-wide transformational growth.

Experience in working out or exiting struggling credits first-hand required.

Principle Activities and Duties:

Lead overall credit function and is responsible for the development and application of guidelines and policies pertaining to extensions of credit.

Work closely with Credit Administration, Lending, Compliance, Project Management, etc. to develop adequate reporting and processes that meet the changing requirements of the regulators and meet the risk management expectations of a growing Bank.

Work with line of business lenders to prepare credit packages for approval that are structured in a competitive manner and meet the Bank's guidelines.

Collaborate with Special Assets regarding that status and structure of workouts.

Participate in credit committee presentations and be a voting member of the Credit Committee.

Participate in the preparation of WAR committee presentations, coordinate the Committee process, and be a voting member of the WAR Committee.

Review and sign off on commercial credit write-ups of all loan types, larger residential/ consumer transactions, risk rating concurrence, charge-off requests and moving credits into and out of non-accrual status.

Assist senior management in evaluating acceptable risk levels for all product, market, concentration and industry types.
