Job Description

Job Summary:

Mercury Systems has an amazing opportunity for an experienced leader to help transform our operational footprint. The Director will lead a team of facilities professionals in our multiple US locations. The Director will be responsible for managing the company's worldwide facility portfolio, developing long-range facilities plans and budgets, and implementing facility project plans based on the company's growth trajectory and future facility needs. Additionally, as the Mercury leader for Environmental Health & Safety, you will continue to develop and implement a culture of Safety first, employee engagement, and full Environmental compliance

Job Responsibilities:



  • Drive a proactive strategic planning process at an enterprise and regional level to improve the performance of the global facilities portfolio and make optimization recommendations.
  • Lead all searches for new / greenfield sites as per business requirements and growth.
  • Collaborate with HR and Business Units to develop and implement new workplace-environment strategies and policies.
  • Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the function and develop budgets, policies and procedures to support the organization's infrastructure.
  • Develop strategy and financial plans, on a rolling 5-year basis, for enterprise, business units and regional facility objectives.
  • Lead strategic facility portfolio initiatives and decisions, tracking and analyzing the financial implications of long-term strategies relative to the overall facilities plan; monitor budgets and approve real estate leases and other facilities-related contracts.
  • Provide a framework for ongoing quarterly portfolio reviews and assessments to show current state, changes, risks and opportunities to the plan, influencing the long-term facility strategies of the business lines.
  • Incorporate "best in class" practices into the facility portfolio planning process, making recommendations for the global facilities portfolio to drive scale, efficiency and flexibility.
  • Support the business operations team to translate business goals and requirements into facility action plans.
  • Bring strategic portfolio planning and practices from outside the business to improve our portfolio planning processes and data visualization tools.
  • Establish/manage/negotiate external service contracts (i.e. property management, real estate services, renovation/maintenance services, etc.) in partnership with Indirect Purchasing and Finance.
  • Actively engage and partner with mergers and acquisitions organizations by providing end to end (pre diligence, due diligence, and integration) Real Estate and Facilities support.
  • Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) organizations to assure compliance with EHS regulations and policies.
  • Ensure that capital investments are considered for Government Incentive opportunities.
  • Fully implement required Environmental controls at all Sites
  • Fully implement Benchmark GenSuite as our tool for monitoring effectiveness of Safety and compliance programs.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or business degree.
  • Ideally 8+ years of Global experience in Real Estate and Property Management.
  • Ideally 3+years of business case modeling and portfolio strategy development.
  • Ideally 10+ years of EH&S experience in an manufacturing operation.
  • Experience in Greenfield and/or Brownfield Development.
  • Experience with negotiating real estate deals and government incentive agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated track record of managing projects that achieve tangible business results.
  • Exceptional ability to juggle multiple tasks, competing priorities and tight timeframes.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, problem solving, and working through ambiguity.
  • Experience working closely with senior management and other critical decision makers, applying strong relationship management and business partnership skills.
  • Ability to confidently to influence senior management.
  • Ability to translate complex information into a simple story, using graphics and visual displays for support.
  • Proficient in building detailed well integrated business cases to support business decisions.
  • Creative problem solver and curious to look at multiple scenarios and potential outcomes to arrive at the best recommendation.
  • Proficient with advanced technology tools and data visualization.
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 25% of the time
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. Citizens.


Preferred Qualification:



  • MBA or other equivalent advanced degree.

  • On-site in either our Phoenix, AZ or our Hudson, NH location
