  1. Physical Security and Safety Planning


    • Assists the Manager in guiding the development and maintenance of HMSA's physical security and safety plans, policies, and procedures.
    • Manages the physical security and safety plans, policies, and program records and information and partners with departments.
    • Develops and implements physical security and employee safety training and education for employees, contractors, and leadership.
    • Actively participates in and guides the formulation and maintenance of site-specific physical security and safety plans.


  2. Risk Management & Mitigation


    • Ensures compliance with OSHA standards and other workplace safety and security regulations.
    • Conducts safety and security audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
    • Supports and guides employee safety and security committees.
    • Supports defining potential risks, analyzing their impact, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing those related to physical security and safety. These evaluations may be extended to HMSA's critical vendors and associates.
    • Leads after-action review root cause assessments as requested by management. Develops action plans to remediate gaps and work with responsible parties to complete them. Develops and presents reports.


  3. Analysis and Testing


    • Develops and analyzes physical security and safety reports to inform HMSA's physical security and safety processes and prevent, identify, and mitigate physical security and safety risks.
    • Develops and leads effective programs for routine testing, monitoring, and evaluating of physical security and employee safety risks. Identify gaps and enable solutions.
    • Conducts exercises to test and evaluate that physical security and safety plans meet compliance and readiness requirements.
    • Leads after-action reviews with departments to identify and implement improvement opportunities identified during testing.
    • Researches and provides information required under an authorized audit or contractual reporting requirement. Works with other team members to identify and resolve testing problems.


  4. Incident Management


    • Supports and guides mitigation and response activities during a physical security or employee safety event.
    • Reviews incident reports periodically as defined by management and follows up to understand and communicate critical details.
    • Supports HMSA's response to physical security and employee safety issues and incidents, coordinating with HR, compliance, business continuity, and facilities.
    • Performs investigations of security and safety incidents, creates reports, and collaborates with law enforcement as necessary.
    • Serves as a physical security and safety SME on the HMSA Crisis Management Team, participating in emergency preparedness planning and response.


  5. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
