Essential Job Functions |
The
Research Technician will assist the Facility Manager in all activities necessary to operate one or more research work settings such as a laboratory, field, and/or classroom. They will assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research in a humane environment while adhering to all State, Federal, and granting agency regulations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Work with Manager to ensure daily coverage of species housed in the Facility.
- Provide proper maintenance and operation of specialized equipment used in the Facility including but not limited to, cage washer, steam sterilizer, table top autoclave, and anesthesia machine.
- Monitor macro and micro environmental conditions for all species housed in the Facility in compliance with federal regulations and correct when necessary.
- Provide administrative support along with clerical tasks that aid the daily business operations of the Animal Facility. Duties include ordering consumable supplies, completing P-card reports, completing reconcile reports, submitting work orders and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with USDA and NIH regulations on the housing and care of experimental animals.
- Assist in post-approval monitoring of research protocols.

Preferred Qualifications |
