Job Summary

The Department of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position for the 2025-2026 academic year. Teaching Professors are responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, supervising teaching assistants, and supervising undergraduate and MA level research. They are also expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the department and perform department service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Supervising teaching assistants.
  • Supervising undergraduate and MA level research.
  • Contribute to the intellectual life of the department and perform department service.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Requirements for the Teaching Assistant Professor of Economics include:
  • PhD Degree in Economics or a related discipline
  • Experience teaching economics at the University or College level
  • Qualified to teach a range of undergraduate and MA level economics courses.
