Summary:

The Mill Service Specialist is to coordinate and facilitate Voith Paper (P&S and FRS) aftermarket service and sales activities for the Nonwovens and paper market. The role will collaborate with the responsible Regional Sales Managers, Service Managers, Parts Managers, Repair Managers, and other functions are required. In this position the Mill Services Manager is the main point of contact for all customer service requests and aftermarket parts. You will develop close relationships with multiple designated customer's mill management, mill maintenance, mill operations and the purchasing group. All customer requests must be managed and processed in a timely manner and distributed to the responsible departments within Voith. The Mill Services Specialist is responsible for planning, quoting, scheduling, and managing all Voith Paper Nonwovens and Paper field service orders for designated customers. This position will manage the required spare parts for service jobs by communication with the customer's maintenance planner and operations teams. To be successful in this position the candidate needs to have a very good understanding of stock preparation, machine operations and mill service requirements. Good communication skills to discuss service needs and service requirements with customers is a must.

Responsibilities:

* Customer's main communication channel for all aftermarket activities related to Voith Paper, includes rebuild opportunities, spare part needs, and service support.

* Meet or exceed all safety and compliance expectations.

* Service

o Manage customer specific service contracts for your assigned mills.

o Provide customer specific mill safety requirements to each Field Service Technician prior to any service job.




    • Provide shutdown planning for scheduled service jobs.
    • Participate in customer shutdown planning meetings.
    • Work in a team with the Field Service Coordinator and service group leaders to manage group schedules and service jobs.
    • Estimate additional service costs and determine quote price levels.
    • Prepare service contracts in close coordination with service group managers and customers.
    • Execute small service jobs independently.
    • Monitor service orders to ensure that they stay within budget.
    • Risk analysis for large scale service proposals with Voith internal resources.
    • Review of field service reports and distribution to customers and Voith internal contacts.
    • Point of contact for all customer needs and 24/7 availability to handle all customer requests in a timely manner.



* Inventory Management

o Maintain consignment parts inventory per the customer / Voith agreement, includes tracking re-order requirements, invoice schedules, safety stock levels, sunset parts, and in-process inventory.

o Act as a liaison between Voith and customer to communicate deliverables and customer expectations.

o Performing onsite inventory counts as needed.

o Work with customers to build a mill spare parts strategy to optimize parts inventory and ensure part availability to prevent machine downtime.

o All gaps between customer expectations and actual performance are documented, analyzed and solutions are developed, where appropriate, to close gaps.

* Lead Generation & Qualification:

o Identify and target potential customers through various channels, including inbound calls, outbound calls, emails, and social media.

o Qualify leads by understanding their business needs, challenges, and buying intent.

o Maintain accurate records of all interactions in the CRM system.

o Oversee the development of quotes and drive for fast efficient quoting to end customer

* Sales Presentations & Demos:

o Be the expert in E-Business web shop for our key customers

o Setup and discuss potential inventory strategies and long-term business strategies

o Travel to customer sites as needed. 3-5 times per year

o Assist Capital spares manager as needed for project based quotes and EDI opportunities.

* Documentation Support

o A system is in place to ensure the documentation and drawings deemed necessary for part identification and maintenance activities are accessible and current.

o Utilize and promote the use of Voith ordering systems and platforms to enhance customer's visibility to critical information.

* Organizational topics

o Track the status of outstanding RFQs, customer orders, repairs, and warranty topics, communicate any delays with customer.

o Attend customer's shutdown planning meetings, review maintenance job plans, and confirm proper parts and support are in place for outage.

o Support customer and Voith logistical requirements to include shipment type, urgency accurate and on-time deliveries, and customer warehousing / receiving needs.

o Track consignment topics, inventory levels, cycle count, invoicing issues.

o Responsible for communicating monthly customers and internal reporting that includes parts usage, accounts receivables, inventory status, repair status, and service plans.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or Paper Technology or a minimum of five (5) years of paper mill service or maintenance planning experience
  • Ability to travel to customer sites
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in Windows based programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • SAP CS experience
  • Strong communication skills, verbal, and written.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Paper industry experience
  • Strong communication skills, both, verbal and in writing
  • Strong Customer relation skills.
  • Knowledge of a manufacturing facility (machining, welding and assembly, etc.).
  • Proficient in the use of computers utilizing Windows based programs as well as being able to learn and utilize the SAP ERP system and the legacy AS400 BPCS system for every day work requirements.
