Job Summary
Position is accountable for leading product development efforts across the Cardiac Management Solutions division of ZOLL.
Essential Functions
- Develop and execute technology-focused research and development strategies and plans
- Drive the development of new products that enable execution of the global business strategy
- Drive the development of software systems and tools that support world-class services delivery
- Effectively support existing products and customer service activities
- Lead, direct and organize activities of the R&D group including planning, staffing, budgeting, priority setting, resource allocation, project management, product design, documentation, design support and pre-production quality assurance.
- Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
- Develop a deep understanding of the clinical applications, patient needs, and prescriber requirements to drive the development of industry-leading technologies and products.
- Work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Support Services, and Reimbursement to develop and implement new product portfolio and applied research / technology portfolio strategies and tactical plans, ensuring the process is focused on customer needs and time-to-market.
- Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the company's strategic direction.
- Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
- Assure that department achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
- Be a student of current clinical and industry trends, ensuring that the company maintains and expands its technology leadership position.
- Competent in complex electronic hardware and software systems design, implementation, validation, and support.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Minimum BS required, Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of industry experience required
- A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, with at least 5 years at the senior management level required.
- Experience in the development of complex electronic and software systems required.
- Experience with medical device development including regulatory requirements required.
