Overview

The Senior Director of Belonging and Teammate Fulfillment will lead Belonging and Teammate Fulfillment strategies for DaVita. This leader plays a critical role in bringing our Employer of Choice (EOC) pillars-purpose, connection, belonging, and growth-to life for DaVita teammates through both leader-led initiatives and enterprise-sponsored activities.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be both creative and strategic, with strong business acumen, executive-level communication and presentation skills, and the ability to balance visionary leadership with operational excellence.

They should have demonstrated experience delivering Belonging and Teammate Fulfillment strategies within a matrixed organization and leading high-visibility, cross-functional initiatives to enhance teammate fulfillment.

This individual must be capable of leading and supporting a variety of special projects across the People Team, as needed. These might include Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, L&D, culture projects, and more.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Belonging Strategy and Leadership:

  • Ensure the strategic elements of our belonging strategy are integrated into our culture, processes, and programs in a legally compliant way.

  • Utilize data and analytics to inform strategy and measure the effectiveness of initiatives, identify opportunities for improvement and driving continuous progress, surface trends, and stay up to date on the internal and external Belonging landscape.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders - from senior executives to front-line operators on belonging and related issues.

  • Support messaging to key internal senior-level stakeholders: Board, Executive Belonging Council and for external reporting (e.g., Community Cares Report).

  • Inspire and align a range of key internal partners to translate strategy into action, including Talent Acquisition, Communications, Learning & Development, People Services Operations, People Insights & Analytics, Legal, and more.

  • Partner with key lanes like Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, and People Services Operations to promote belonging at all phases of the teammate lifecycle, from hire to development to succession planning.

  • Teammate Fulfillment Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and deliver enterprise-wide Teammate Fulfillment strategy, including a multi-year perspective on activating the EOC pillars: purpose, connection, belonging, and growth, as well as appreciation, recognition, and celebration.

  • Support multi-year objectives across the People Team portfolio related to Amplifying Culture, including workstream ownership.

  • Manage the team delivering programs and services that enhance Teammate Fulfillment, including quarterly signature programs, scholarships, awards, and the DaVita Village Network (hardship grant program).

  • Conduct data analysis, market research, business case development, project planning, and resource allocation across Teammate Fulfillment portfolio.

  • Assess and refine current processes and workflows, leveraging technology and innovation to determine the optimal approach.

  • Drive organizational change initiatives and transformation based on strategic insights, and ensure leadership buy-in and co-creation on annual planning process.

  • Collaborate with Communications on effective messaging and channels strategy to support objectives.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Partner closely with Finance throughout the budgeting and forecasting process.

  • Oversee the annual budget planning process for the portfolio, aligning goals and strategies to meet or exceed budget allocation.

  • Work closely with leadership and decision-makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions for the organization.

  • People Leadership:

  • Lead a team of approximately 8 individuals, including individual contributors and managers.

  • Develop talent within the team - coaching for growth, development, and performance.

  • Consistently evaluate talent resourcing, making strategic recommendations on organizational design to best support current and future needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in strategy development, analysis, leadership, and managing across a diverse portfolio of strategic projects.

  • Strategy development: Track record of creating data-backed strategies with alignment from key stakeholders, including executives.

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate large data sets and develop complex analyses to derive meaningful insights.

  • Project Management: Exceptional project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives that drive organizational change.

  • Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence a range of stakeholders, including senior audiences.

  • Change management leadership: Proven ability to inspire and influence different teams without direct authority, building strong partnerships and driving results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
