Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Senior Manager of Finance & Strategy to support our Building Products business. The Senior Manager is a key role that creates value for the organization by demonstrating expertise in economic thinking and analysis as they support and enable sound decision-making by business leaders. Well-rounded technical and engagement skills will be must-haves for this business partner. As a Senior Manager, you will develop and apply financial models, perform competitive market analysis, cost analysis, evaluation of competing opportunities, identify new opportunities, and determine key variables that impact business performance. In this highly visible role, the ability to build relationships, work cross-functionally, and communicate at a leadership level is required. We are seeking strong individual contributors and strategic thinkers!

Location: In this role you will report to the Senior Director of Finance & Strategy. Our team is located at GP HQ in downtown Atlanta, GA. We offer a schedule of remote work and 3 to 4 days in the office a week. Our Team: The Building Products FPA team provides support to multiple operating locations across the US from our corporate HQ in Atlanta, GA. Our finance teams are comprised of a diverse group of individuals that have a passion for analytics, financial business partnering, and lifelong learning. Each team member has a strong contribution and transformation mindset, strong technical and critical thinking skills, and is a confident communicator adept at business partnering.

Georgia-Pacific Building Products business is North America's No. 1 producer of wood panels - namely plywood and oriented strand board - and is a leading producer of gypsum products and lumber. Georgia-Pacific is also a major supplier to large do-it-yourself warehouse retailers.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business leaders to enable improved decision-making and integration of analytical function within the business
  • Develop a deep understanding of the building products industry, customers, and competitors; use this knowledge to drive short-term and long-term business strategies
  • Provide insightful analysis and points of view to support investments in assets, raw materials, products, innovation, and other ventures
  • Support the division's vision and strategy development process, including industry/market analysis, point of view development, and division level hold values
  • Provide sound economic thought leadership and analysis to support business partners in developing and presenting proposals to senior leadership
  • Provide scenario analysis, business case analysis, and deliver ad hoc projects as required
  • Foster and build the financial acumen of internal customers through coaching and training
  • Think and act like the decision maker to anticipate business leader needs, provide recommendations, and continuously improve knowledge processes
  • Drive change, be inquisitive, and push boundaries while demonstrating humility
  • Advance the Principled Based Management (PBM) culture by applying and reinforcing the company's Guiding Principles

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Progressive career experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, business development, business decision support, or related role(s)
  • Experience applying strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; including originating ideas, collecting data, establishing facts, performing analysis, drawing conclusions, and presenting a point of view to key stakeholders and business leaders
  • Experience performing discounted cash flow modeling, NPV, IRR, ROI and other valuation metrics
  • Confident Communicator; you have experience presenting complex financial concepts to various audiences including leadership, and you engage effectively with your stakeholders in multiple formats - you are comfortable being seen and heard
  • Collaboration mindset; youseekto build relationships, solve problems, and bridge gaps between partners
  • Systems and Tools savvy; you source and work with large volumes of data from multiple systems and have advanced proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint (financial modeling, charts/graphs, pivot tables, reporting, and large deck presentations with crisp formatting)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Investment banking, consulting, or equity research experience
  • Experience with data analysis/visualization tools beyond Microsoft Excel (i.e. Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, VBA, Hyperion, SQL, etc.)
  • Leadership experience(i.e. developing the capabilities of a team, leading transformation, being a driver of company initiatives, project leadership, or similar)
  • Manufacturing or Building Products experience a plus!
