Overview Element has an opportunity for an Application Sales Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for conversion of more complex requests for quotes (RFQ's) to high quality bids and quotations. You will establish and maintain a strong relationship with clients throughout the sales cycle: proactively following up on leads for future business opportunities, being responsible for following up and converting more complex RFQs to high quality quotations per customer expectations and making detailed testing proposals. The Application Sales Engineer must be able to articulate Element testing to both business and technical users. They must be able to identify all technical requirements of assigned accounts to assure quotations are complete and professional. In addition to client relations, this role will interact with the Element Sales Team, General Manager, and lab personnel. The ideal candidate will be customer focused, action oriented, approachable and patience. Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 DOE Responsibilities * Prepare formal quotations by interpreting customer drawings, specifications, and documentation
* Consult with program managers, certified technicians, and other technical staff to ensure accurate and timely quotes * Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications related to NDT and chemical processing * Calculate lead times and pricing based on standard price lists, costing models, and operational inputs * Communicate with customers to clarify requirements and provide updates or revisions to quotes as needed * Navigate technical conversations to help qualify leads and align services with customer needs * Track activity and maintain accuracy within the CRM, ensuring opportunity status and communications are properly documented * Build strong relationships with customers by providing excellent communication and timely responses * Assist in identifying future customer needs and collaborate cross-functionally to meet those requirements Skills / Qualifications * Experience with non-destructive testing, material science, or technical services preferred
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs, and testing procedures * Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple RFQs and follow-ups simultaneously * Basic sales skills with a customer-first mindset and ability to manage expectations * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients effectively Company Overview Element is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
