Position Summary:

Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) is seeking a Group Leader, Operations in our Plating department at our Power Solutions Group facility in Rolling Meadows. The Group Leader will assist the supervisor with overseeing, monitoring, and coordinating the work of a group of production or operations employees to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Capture general production related data including but not limited to job receipt date, job number, job quantity etc.
  • Suggest corrections to ensure consistent production, meet quality standards, reduce cost, and increase efficiency.
  • Work with Supervisor to keep employees informed of any changes in processes, procedures, or production schedule.
  • Assist employees in resolving on-the-job technical problems.
  • Create requisitions for general shop items.
  • Work together with employees to ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations and maintaining work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Refer problems involving job discipline to Supervisor to manage.
  • Work with Supervisor to ensure continued compliance to environmental regulations and good manufacturing practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED
  • 1 - 2+ years of related experience
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with employees and staff.
  • Ability to work independently.

The hiring rate expected for this position is $20.50 - $25.50 hourly, depending on experience and knowledge of the selected candidate.

Frequent hand motion and repetitive tasks including using a computer for typing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally do immediate reaching and overhead reaching to perform various duties, frequent standing for varied amounts of time to perform various duties, frequent walking for varied amounts of time to perform various duties. Squat or bend to perform various duties. Occasionally climb stairs.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
