Schmidt Construction part of the Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Operations Manager to work at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The Quality Control Laboratory Operations Manager oversees asphalt and aggregate testing, assigning daily tasks to optimize site performance in the Pikes Peak and Castle Rock regions. This role includes supervising field sampling, conducting calculations, and coordinating with on-site teams and external testers.
Pay: $75-85k
Shift/Schedule: Mon-Fri 8-5pm (Occasional Nights and Weekends when necessary)

Responsibilities
The Quality Control Technician will:



  • Comply with all safety regulations, policies and record keeping
  • In conjunction with QC Management, Paving and Quarry operations, evaluate necessary tasks needed daily and assign personnel to those tasks
  • Supervise sample processing from paving and quarry sampling
  • Oversee Nuclear Gauge inventory and record keeping
  • Acquire and maintain necessary certifications for safety and testing of paving materials
  • Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment
  • Oversee equipment and building maintenance
  • Oversee all laboratory scheduling, operations and completion of assigned tasks
  • Must be available for occasional night and weekend work
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor


Skills

The ideal candidate will have:



  • Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to Climb ladders, scaffolding and stockpiles
  • Basic knowledge of office machinery and software
  • Knowledge of various laboratory equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.



Technical Specifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years' experience as QC Technician
  • Radiation safety certification preferred or related industry certifications
  • Proficient with computers and technology
  • CAPA/LABcat certifications desired or willing to acquire
  • Proficient math, reading, and writing skills
  • Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations and act in a professional manner
  • Ability to various hours including Saturday and overtime.
