Great Hill is seeking askilled Technical Writer (Journeyman) to support a federal program in Washington, DC. In this role, you'll create, edit, and manage technical documentation-including manuals, procedures, job aids, slide presentations, and reports-ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with government standards. Working closely with engineers, developers, and stakeholders, you'll translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced evolving environment.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Write, edit, and proofread technical documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, special reports, and any other customer information deliverables and documents.
  • Collaborate with and support engineers, team members, and customers with all documented work products to define and refine content, document structure, guidelines, and other specifications across all program task areas.
  • Ensure documents are accurate, complete, and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style to comply with editorial and government specifications.
  • Support document life cycle management by developing, facilitating, and implementing template standards, maintaining and recording revisions and revision history, by refining, facilitating and initiating and participating in gate reviews of SOPs and other deliverable work products.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all collaborative assignments.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Visio.
  • Strict attention to details, ability to review and edit technical content for compliance, clarity, grammar, and proper use of terminology.
  • Ability to interact with IT engineers and developers to translate IT capabilities and solutions in the areas of infrastructure, security, software, and data management into easily consumable content.
  • Develop documentation, communication, training, and presentation material for management, executives, government stakeholders, external entities, internal users, and the public.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and user community.
  • Strong organizational planning and time management skills; the ability to multitask and work within strict deadlines.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a highly evolving and diverse work environment effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and interfacing with stakeholders.
  • Active SECRET Clearance


Desired Skills:



  • Extensive experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Office 365 certifications in Word, PowerPoint, and/or SharePoint are a plus but not required.
  • Mindset for innovation relating to document lifecycle process, policy, and governance improvement.



Salary at Seneca is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The range of this position in other geographic locations may differ. The projected compensation range for this position is below. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.

The projected compensation range for this position is:
$70,000 $80,000 USD
