Job Description Summary:UCAR is excited to announce the job opening for The Workday HRIS Analyst, within the Human Resources HR) Department.

The role is an integral part of the HR Operations team, enabling HR to run smoothly and efficiently. The Workday HRIS Analyst is responsible for the support and maintenance of the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system, from an HR perspective. This position will work closely with the Talent Management and Total Rewards teams, as well as with the Lead and Cloud Solutions Analysts in IT, to ensure that business processes are configured, tested, validated, implemented, and maintained properly in Workday. The HRIS Analyst will also analyze processes and data flows for process improvement opportunities.

Altogether, the Workday HRIS Analyst will provide solutions to a variety of HR-related items and enable the HR team to utilize technology to better serve our customers as well as to ensure HR compliance. Position Details:

What You Will Do

Here is a brief summary of what one would expect to be generally responsible for in this role.

HCM Support and Maintenance

  • Serves as the HRIS partner supporting designated HCM areas in Workday, including Core HCM, Talent Management, Recruiting, Learning, Benefits, Absence, Compensation, and Time Tracking.

  • Provides consultation to HR Strategic Partners and HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs), builds domain knowledge, gathers requirements, and provides solutions & impact analysis.

  • Evaluates and identifies opportunities to enhance user experience and increase adoption for HCM and other HR-related modules to drive efficiency, reduce the cost of operations, and mitigate operational risk and compliance risk.

  • Documents, analyzes, designs, configures, tests, modifies, and implements HR Business Process changes in Workday based on and related to user or system design specifications.

  • Serves as subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities.

  • Assists in testing of integrations, security, and annual events.

  • Maintains master data values in Workday (ex: Job Profile, Job Family, Job Group, Roles, Custom Organization Types, Positions, Locations)

  • Serves as an escalation resource for issues.

  • Provides input and knowledge sharing with Workday Team Lead, Workday Team Members, and end users as appropriate.

  • Participates in scheduled and ad hoc training in order to improve policy and process acumen.

  • Develops and updates training and communication materials related to HR processes in Workday.

  • Evaluates releases and functionality to identify opportunities to improve and optimize the use of Workday.

Project Management

  • Leads planning and requirements review sessions in close collaboration with a variety of stakeholders including managers, directors, and functional leads.

  • Ensures assigned projects are delivered on time and within the allocated budget.

  • Appropriately identifies and escalates project issues and risks to team and / or management when appropriate.

  • Leads creation of project initiation documents, configuration workbooks, process maps, and other project documentation; compiles and presents solution concepts and options to stakeholders.

  • Develops and maintains work breakdown structures and implementation schedules for assigned projects in collaboration with project stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Computer Science or related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience with the administration, development, and configuration of Workday, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Workday HCM experience or training.

  • HR functional and system experience.

Desired, not Required

  • Core HCM Workday Pro Certification preferred; other Workday Certifications an added bonus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of HR processes, policies, and regulations.

  • Understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management.

  • Knowledge of Workday HR modules, including HCM, Benefits, Time and Absence, Talent Management, Recruiting, Learning, and Compensation.

  • Demonstrated experience administering, configuring, and testing cloud-based human capital management/human resources applications.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to positively interact with HR team members, cross-functional colleagues, and the Workday IT team.

  • Ability to collect data and understand business processes in order to document business requirements, with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.

  • Ability to respond positively and productively to uncertainty, rapid change, ambiguity, and unexpected issues in the development process.

  • Experience using issue and project tracking tools (JIRA, ProjectPlace, etc.).

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Google Apps.
