Job Title: System Engineer (Active Secret clearance) Duration: 12 + months CTH Location: 9970 Federal Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80921 OR Huntsville, AL Shift: 1st Shift Payrate: $55-$65/hr. on W2 without benefits Note: Must be comfortable working on-site Must have a copy of a Bachelor's Degree or a Master's Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance or an active Top Secret clearance is highly desired Growing understanding of DoD and missile defense command and control, battle management, architectures and communications system concepts, mission, and common system test and data analysis techniques Experience using MATLAB, Python, JAVA, or a similar language environment to develop analytical tools or perform numerical modeling of complex systems. Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense elements or systems in similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non-ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub-orbital mechanics, etc.) Role & Responsibilities: Evaluates systems under various scenarios and architectures to determine and/or optimize overall system mission performance in a framework giving insight into performance that may be employed by Missile Defense Agency and Warfighters. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Develops and maintains analysis tools of varied fidelity including modeling and simulation tools to predict performance against evolving threats of current and future missile defense systems. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Defines, schedules, assigns, and executes tasks, and monitors completion to lead the monitoring of integration and checkout activities, receiving and evaluating of results of activities, and approving/disapproving of each by determining whether results meet the checkout requirements, so that integration activities can proceed. Supporting the subject matter experts for integration and test domains, system engineering system performance/ domains, system-specific issues, processes, tools, and regulations. Support efforts to solve complex missile defense problems. Utilization of MBSE tools such as CAMEO or DOORS, System Architect and mathematical modeling and simulation to provide thought leadership and lead trade studies in assigned areas. Requirements and architecture development in support of MDS systems. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. Minimum of 1 year of in system engineering (e.g. Systems, Design, Architecture, Integration, Requirements or Test). Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with verification of requirements. Must have an understanding of System Engineering and iterative product development using Agile practices. Experience in scripting and automated test development is a plus. Demonstrated experience performing systems analysis or performance analysis, including system concept trade studies, operational analysis, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis (incl. technical performance measures), discrimination methods and techniques definition, probability analysis, or vehicle analysis.
