About the Role

The Senior Purchasing Manager for electrical /electronic is responsible for leading electrical commodity procurement working closely with local, regional, and global teams. This role is to ensure strategic supplier partnerships, cost effective sourcing, supply continuity, supporting business profitability, meeting product reliability and achieving optimal material cost.

This role will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and strategic supplier partners with a focus on electrical and electronic commodity parts and reports to the Director of Procurement.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive electrical supply chain strategy and supplier partnership aligned with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee sourcing for electrical/electronic components, ensuring competitive pricing, scalability and supply quality/reliability
  • Clear experience and knowledge partnering with some of the key/top companies within the electrical /electronic commodities' space
  • Drive cost reduction strategies through supplier negotiations, sourcing, incoterms, and process improvements
  • Work continually with internal stakeholders to improve our supplier and transition into production.
  • Develop and manage the electrical and related supply chain budget, ensuring alignment with financial targets
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Manage risks related to geopolitical factors, tariffs, and supply chain disruptions
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies to deliver maximum competitive advantages.
  • Support Commodity bid lists, track supplier performance, and source new business.
  • Lead negotiations to deliver savings supporting corporate cost objectives.
  • Benchmarking, rationalization, development, and management of critical and strategic suppliers.
  • Support new business pursuits and maintain a database of key supplier technology capabilities.
  • Execute best-in-class sourcing process to secure the sourcing nomination of optimal total cost solution to support AESC programs, through regional/global supplier quotations, negotiations, and successful contract management.
  • Identify new technologies and suppliers to give AESC a competitive advantage.
  • Develop knowledge and utilize modern purchasing tools and techniques to achieve successful cost-down activity.
  • Work closely with Buyers, Program Purchasing, and Engineering teams globally to support market intelligence analysis, supplier and technology selection, and competitor benchmarking activity.
  • Able to balance risks to achieve the lowest material cost within very tight deadlines.

Qualifications

What You Need

  • 7-10 years if proven purchasing experience, preferably within a lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment or a related high-tech industry.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes commonly practiced in the Automotive industry with the ability to identify and implement continuous improvement, following "Lean Manufacturing" principles.
  • Manufacturing expertise within specific production methods (molding, stamping, etc.) per commodity characteristics.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to take responsibility for procurement activities and deliver results in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Executive level and Cross-functional leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate trends, deliver proactive solutions, and drive improvements in purchasing processes.
  • A strong understanding of purchasing best practices within the supply chain, with a proven track record of meeting targets in competitive industries.
  • Strong focus on customer and delivering results.
  • Industrial awareness, with the ability to investigate new supply markets and assess supplier capabilities to support cost reduction and supply rationalization initiatives.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949, ISO14001, and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
