About the Role:

Job Summary:

The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for supporting and administring organizational security plans and operations. Executes procedures and processes for security programs. Meets required codes and regulations. Supports and conducts internal investigations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies. Maintains records, manuals and documentation. For government contract-related work, coordinates and administers security clearances and other security policies and procedures in accordance with the Department of Defense or appropriate agencies. Ensures customer projects are managed with the approporiate degree of security (classified, CUI, ITAR, etc.). Serves as the facility's security representative. Ensures corporate security policies are complied with at representative facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Determines a course of action based on guidelines and modifies processes and methods as required.
  • Advanced skills in prescribed internal tools, including ERP and MS Office.
  • Ability to create site specific security documents.
  • Ability to communicate with government oversight office personnel without supervision. Manages site foreign visitors protocol adherence.
  • Leads DCSA self-inspections. Able to recommend modifications to operational policies and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of the NISPOM.
  • A basic understanding of physical security requirements.
  • A thorough understanding of security databases, such as DISS, NBIS, NISS, and eAPP.

Job Requirements:

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience and an FSO for Possessing Facilities Program Management certificate.
  • Ability to work independently and devise solutions based on limited information and precedent
  • Ability to adapt existing approaches to resolve issues
  • Works on problems of moderate scope which are often varied and routine where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Active Secret Level Clearance Required
  • Occasional travel required for OPSEC auditing
  • Effective communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
