Description


The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring high quality raw materials, including paper, adhesives, and related supplies, to support production schedules and customer requirements. This includes managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. This position collaborates closely with internal partners including production, scheduling, quality assurance, and logistics to maintain appropriate inventory levels, reduce waste, balance costs, and support lean manufacturing.

This full-time position will report to the General Manager and is located at our Liberty Packaging facility in Phoenix, AZ.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs strategic or tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, warehousing, or receiving to support the overall material needs of the organization
  • Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports and price lists
  • Analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer services
  • Tracks the status of requisitions and orders
  • Set up of new item numbers and BOM's and file maintenance of these items
  • Ensure that pricing is obtained prior to set up of new parts
  • Monitors shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods
  • Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action
  • Identify vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
  • Analyzes market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
  • Oversees the cyclical inventories of all storeroom areas
  • Follow up with users of storeroom on any items that should be issued to work orders
  • Ensure that inventories are being done to accomplish two complete inventories of all areas during the fiscal year
  • Other duties, as assigned.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years of related chain management, purchasing and inventory management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.


PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Amtech or Encore.
  • Technical Degree preferred.
  • Negotiation certification preferred.
  • Preferably both manufacturing and transactional experience.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting base salary range for this position is $61,680 - $77,100 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
