About the Job

The Intern Athletic Trainer works under the direction of the Assistant AD/Head Athletic Trainer for Olympic Sports in managing the health and wellbeing of the student-athletes at the University of Minnesota. This position will provide care to the Track and Field teams as an extension of Assistant Athletic Trainer Kyle Zeiszler. The position appointment will run from May 11th - May 25th.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* 80% of Appointment - Assist Athletic Trainer Kyle Zeiszler with the healthcare needs of the student-athletes he serves. This is to include both home and away coverage.
* 20% of Appointment - Work in collaboration with the Track and Field coaching staff to make sure student-athlete needs are met.

Qualifications

  • Have or Perusing a Masters In Sport Medicine
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Demonstrated work with high caliber athletes
About the Department

The Athletic Medicine Department is part of the Health and Performance Department within Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Minnesota. The Athletic Trainers work closely with team physicians, physical therapists, Athletic Performance staff, Sport Psychologists, Sports Nutrition staff, and multiple allied healthcare professions to provide comprehensive healthcare.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25 - $18.25; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
