Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Specialist to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal principles and procedures, with a particular focus on contract management and compliance. This role involves supporting the legal department in various capacities, including drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, as well as providing general legal support to ensure the company always operates within the law.



Duties and Responsibilities

    Licensing Support:
    • Support the legal team in managing business registrations and licenses, which may include Secretary of State renewals and amendments, local/municipal business licenses, and more.
    • Manage relationships with registered agents, outside counsel, and other vendors.
    • Assist in the preparation of legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
    • Conduct legal research from various sources including statutes, regulations, codes, bulletins, FAQs and other sources; summarize legal issues as needed.
    • Be an organized self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
  • Contract Support:
    • Research and compile contracts for audit, document production or other purposes.
    • Review and analyze key contract provisions as needed.
    • Maintain and update the contract management system, ensuring all contracts are accurately recorded and easily accessible.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of contract policies and procedures.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Organize and maintain legal files and records.
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings and trainings.
    • Other legal projects as needed.


Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a legal environment, preferably with a focus on corporate/transactional.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, plus excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
