About the role

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Class A Tractor Trailer Driver to support operations at our Fulton Street Transfer Station. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of waste trailers onsite to support the loading process and prepare them for off-site transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Move and position waste trailers within the facility using a yard horse or road tractor

• Inspect trailers for readiness prior to loading

• Stage trailers at designated bays for loading with municipal solid waste

• Transport full trailers to the tarping station, ensure proper coverage, and prepare them for shipment

• Work collaboratively with site personnel, inbound drivers, and transportation contractors to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow

Requirements:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

• Acceptable driving record

• Must adhere to all DOT safety regulations

• Ability to operate across a public roadway (transfer station spans both sides)

• Walk, stand, sit, and climb

• Consistently work in various weather conditions

• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs

• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator

• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Minimum 1-2 years of commercial driving experience
