This Position reports to:

Production Supervisor

Your Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for setting up and running prototype, small quantity, and production runs on CNC mill and lathe equipment. Required to program these machines and design and build fixtures to support the manufacturing of parts.

  • Set-up and program CNC mill and lathe

  • Design and build fixtures for improving efficiency of current jobs and to facilitate the production of prototypes and repeat small quantity jobs

  • Create setup documentation for each job to reduce the change over and setup times

  • Work with the tool room personnel, and engineering, to build fixtures for production machines.

  • Utilize local cam system (Virtual Gibbs) to create programs as needed for the CNC mill and Lathe

  • Save programs to company server and manage files for future use

  • Monitor dedicated tooling for wear and breakage, change as necessary

  • Maintain tooling cabinets in area, utilizing 5 S process.

  • Ability to work overtime as scheduled.

Qualifications:

Broad knowledge of company machines, products and tooling a necessity. Demonstrated skill on and knowledge of a wide variety of machines. Self-directed and able to operate independently, with other areas of the company as well as teamed with work partners. Visualizes three dimensionally. Manual dexterity and mechanically inclined. Capable of training co-workers. Able to follow quality plans and work instructions. Uses a variety of machine tools and gauges, calipers, etc. Reads blueprints.

Education and/or Experience:

High School/GED required. Prefer Associate's degree in or equivalent 2 year college or technical school. Or completion of a 4-year apprenticeship program

Minimum requirement of 3-5 years of related work experience
