Summary:

The Benefits Coordinator will facilitate and serve as the primary point of reference for all employee benefit related programs and associated regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Develop and foster positive working relationships with job candidates, employees, broker, third party administrators and vendors.
  • Oversee delivery of multiple employee health plans, along with 401(k) plan coordination, in accordance with legal, tax, and company guidelines.
  • Serve as point of contact for all employee benefit questions and issues.
  • Oversee interaction with various internal departments, payroll, accounting, and leadership to ensure proper plan functioning.
  • Ensure compliance and fulfill requirements of IRS, DOL, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPPA, FMLA and ADA regulations.
  • Performs accurate, timely updates and maintenance of employee benefits enrollment to include new hires, terminations, class and compensation changes, open enrollment and other required changes into HRIS and vendor portals.
  • Monitor employee status changes for eligibility and benefit changes for accurate paycheck adjustments.
  • Review, process and respond to medical support orders and related questions.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of benefit invoices and prepares for payment.
  • Support wage and benefits related implementation tasks when contracts are renewed or revised.
  • Participate in and assist with benefit renewal process including reviewing plan documents.
  • Participate in and assist with annual 401(k) audit.
  • Develop and implement communication to ensure effective promotion and understanding of benefit offerings.
  • Proactive coordination and active participation in benefits related presentations and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, and Licensure

Required

  • Associate degree in human resources or related field of study; related benefit administration experience may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum two years' experience in employee Benefits Administration, including multi-state, Service Contract Act (SCA), and 401(k) Safe Harbor Plan administration.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study.
  • 4 years Benefits Administration experience, including multi-state, Service Contract Act (SCA) and 401(k) Safe Harbor Plan administration.
  • Experience with Deltek-Costpoint preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Working knowledge of employee benefit programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide appropriate sensitivity and maintain strict confidentiality in complicated situations.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
