Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform complex data analytics to identify insights that can be incorporated into strategic recommendations for improving member care and to drive improvement for Medicaid Pay for Performance program
• Develop machine learning models balancing statistical rigor with efficient business application
• Evaluate success of health care intervention programs by using techniques such as propensity matching, difference-in-difference analysis, hypothesis testing and descriptive statistics
• Work in a cross-disciplinary environment to embed analytics into strategies that address business problems through data-driven solutions
• Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to a range of stakeholders
• Build solid relationships across the organization and make influence

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Applied Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science
• 3+ years of professional experience in developing analytical solution using techniques such as machine learning, text mining/analysis, propensity score matching, difference-in-difference analysis, and hypothesis testing
• 3+ years of experience with Python, SAS, or R
• 2+ years of experience communicating analytic results to stakeholders
• Proven to be a critical thinker- this position will need to evaluate merits of new and innovative ideas and make sound decisions
• Proven to be self-motivated and demonstrates an innate ability to absorb new concepts, technical frameworks, program paradigms while employing them creatively to solve complex analytical problems
• Proven solid communicator - this role will need to be comfortable presenting program objectives, process, and performance in multiple setting
• Proven solid Relationship building skills with internal and practice teams to drive goal alignment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with HEDIS measures
• Experience with experimental design
• Knowledge of case-cohort and case-control studies

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
