The Accountant is responsible for various aspects of the general ledger monthly cycle for Purdue Federal, CU Channels LLC and Passageways LLC, including account analyses, journal entries, reconciliations, and support of the annual financial audit. Responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including daily balancing, assigned spreadsheets, statistical collection/reporting, research and development. Updates the fixed asset system and AP system, processing payments, maintaining fixed assets, and posting to the general ledger. Responsible for cash management, daily balancing, and ordering cash for branches/ATMs. Timely completion of monthly financial reporting required. Responsible for reconciliation of GL and correspondent bank accounts. Responsible for development, maintenance and performance of related written procedures. Continually trains and cross trains. Participates in process improvement initiatives focusing on efficiencies and process controls.

Description:
* Processing and Reconciliation of GL/correspondent bank accounts
* Daily processing and management of all GL entries related to all credit union accounts
* Assists in daily accounting activities ensuring proper internal controls and compliance with GAAP
* Fixed Assets & Accounts Payable
* Process all vendor, employee and corporate card reimbursements
* Record all fixed asset expenditures on Fixed Asset Systems or track as in process project
* Reconcile Fixed Asset System to the GL balances
* Cash Management
* ATM and Branch cash ordering and management
* Responsible for cash management and reconciliation of bank accounts and outstanding items.

Required Skills
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of similar experience Experience with Excel

Additional Requirements


  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles
  • Competent computer skills
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, vendors and company contacts
