Sterile Processing Assistant/Runner - Full Time - Day Shift - Novi

GENERAL SUMMARY:

• Performs various tasks related to movement of supplies, instruments, equipment and case carts, equipment cleaning, stocking operating rooms and sterile processing areas.
• Ensures that technicians have the necessary supplies and time to perform sterile processing work.
• Retrieves soiled instruments, equipment, and/or carts from clinical departments at regular intervals, following appropriate standards.
• Distributes and inventories supplies at regular intervals, following appropriate standards to the operating room (OR) and within the Sterile Processing Department.
• Answers phones and assists callers in obtaining needed supplies and/or instruments.
• Pulls instruments and delivers case carts to OR or L&D.
• Unloads cart washers and dries items prior to being placed on carts for assembly.
• Moves equipment and carts to maintain workflow and to clear traffic paths.
