Dynata is seeking a Senior Vice President, Data Science & Research to lead a team of data scientists and researchers in advancing the company's mission to deliver high quality data and products to power our customers' decision-making. This leader will drive the development and modernization of survey research, ad measurement, and audience activation methodologies. They will leverage AI to improve the quality and efficiency of our products. This leader will also develop privacy-safe approaches for data connectivity and drive a thought leadership agenda that supports Dynata's growth objectives. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for shaping the future of Dynata's data science and research capabilities. The SVP will work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales and operations teams to drive innovation, enhance research quality, and position Dynata as an industry leader in data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Development and modernization of survey research, ad measurement, and audience activation methodologies.
- Advance methodologies for survey research to enhance speed, quality, representation, and efficiency.
- Develop and refine ad measurement techniques, leveraging Dynata's unique panel data to provide more precise campaign insights.
- Leverage Dynata's panel data and survey findings to build high quality audience segments that clients use to find and activate audiences across the streaming and digital ecosystem.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate new methodologies into Dynata's product suite.
2. Leveraging AI to Improve Product Quality and Efficiency
- Drive the application of AI and machine learning to optimize survey research, panel management, fraud detection, and data quality.
- Implement AI-driven automation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Explore and deploy generative AI solutions to streamline insight generation and reporting.
- Explore the role of synthetic data in enhancing Dynata's data and products.
3. Developing Privacy-Safe Data Connectivity Solutions
- Design and implement secure methodologies for linking Dynata's first-party panelist data with external datasets.
- Ensure compliance with evolving global privacy regulations and industry best practices around the world.
- Work with legal, compliance, and technology teams to balance innovation with responsible data stewardship.
4. Driving a Thought Leadership Agenda
- Establish Dynata as a leader in data science and research innovation through white papers, industry events, and partnerships.
- Represent Dynata in industry forums, conferences, and client engagements to share insights on the future of data-driven research.
- Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to translate thought leadership into business growth opportunities.
5. Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a team of ~30 data scientists and researchers. Work with team to develop and execute against clear goals, responsibilities, and KPIs.
- Provide effective coaching and feedback - regularly meet with employees to review development progress.
- Foster teamwork & development - provide opportunities for people to grow & learn to work together as a team.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of experience in data science, research methodology, or a related field, with significant leadership experience.
- Expertise in survey research, ad measurement, audience activation, and data connectivity.
- Strong background in AI/ML applications in research and data analytics.
- Deep knowledge of privacy privacy-preserving data methodologies.
- Proven track record of driving innovation and thought leadership in the market research industry.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders across product, technology, sales, and operations teams.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in data science, statistics, economics, computer science, or a related field preferred.

The base salary range for this position in is $220K-$250K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
