About This Position

Vomela is seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager to join our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will be a senior-level, motivated self-starter, skilled and passionate about providing high-quality services to our rapidly growing business and its needs.

In this role:

The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of IT systems, infrastructure, and services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves strategic planning, managing the IT infrastructure team, and working closely with other departments to ensure the technology supports the company's growth, innovation, and goals.

This is an onsite position reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations. Occasional weekend and evening work is required. Periodic travel to Vomela locations throughout North America may be necessary. The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the requirements set forth in the following sections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the development and execution of long-term IT infrastructure and operational strategies that align with the company's overall goals.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, and cloud platforms.
  • Lead and manage a team of IT professionals responsible for infrastructure management and network, systems administration.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems to support business operations.
  • Manage IT operations to ensure efficient performance, proactive monitoring, and quick resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, development, and business units, to align IT infrastructure with organizational needs.
  • Partner with IT Infrastructure Architect to identify on premise applications and data to migrate to cloud infrastructure.
  • Support the evaluation and for IT infrastructure services and hardware/software procurement.
  • Aid in the development of and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the company's IT systems can quickly recover in case of failures.
  • Test and ensure backup systems, recovery strategies, and risk management plans are in place and operational.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends, driving innovation to improve IT systems and operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Communication: Infrastructure Manager must be able to communicate technical concepts and ideas to non-technical stakeholders. Being able to communicate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors is crucial for success.
  • Project Management: Infrastructure Manager often works on large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders. The ability to manage timelines and resources is essential.
  • Problem Solving: Infrastructure Manager must be able to identify problems and develop creative solutions to solve them. This requires strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Collaboration: Infrastructure Manager must work closely with other team members, including programmers, developers, and project managers. The ability to collaborate effectively and work well with others is essential.
  • Cloud: Experience with design, build, and migration to cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, CCNP) are highly desirable.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations management
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience with design, build, and migration to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure, virtualization, networking, and enterprise IT systems).
  • Strong experience in managing IT teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, including server hardware, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in IT operations management tools and monitoring solutions.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on efficiency, cost optimization, and growth.
