Position Summary
To carry out industrial insulation and sheet metal (cladding) work on live Oil & Gas assets on-site and in workshop settings. This role includes mentoring PNG national trainees in technical skills and safe work practices to support nationalisation goals.
Duties And Responsibilities
Functions:
- Assist with the removal, installation, and fabrication of insulation and cladding materials.
- Participate in workshop activities including cutting, fitting, and assembling components under supervision.
- Follow safety protocols and participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and hazard reporting.
- Learn to interpret basic technical drawings and work orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools, materials, and workspaces.
- Progressively develop competence in fabrication, fieldwork, and safe work practices.
- Work closely with mentors and supervisors to meet development goals.
Development Pathway:
- Year 1: Workshop-focused learning and supervised field assistance.
- Year 2: Increased field exposure, developing Rope Access and fabrication competencies.
- Year 3: Targeted skill refinement toward independent work and potential certification.
Safety Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment. Other Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company. Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment. Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Basic mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to safety.
- Willingness to undergo Rope Access training upon successful probation.
- Ability to work in both workshop and live asset environments under direction.
