Summary
Responsible for timely and accurate payroll processing items, including on-cycle, off-cycle, and bonus items while maintaining strict confidentiality of information reviewed and processed. Supporting ticket resolution, projects, and analytics for a "zero defect" payroll and best in class customer service.
Responsibilities
- Process special or exception items including reversals, voids, deductions, and quarterly/year-end payroll items to ensure Employee and General Ledger accuracy by quarter and year-end.
- Analyzes, audits, and processes incoming documentation such as status changes, verifications, garnishments, etc. by employee, manager, Human Resources, or third-party requests.
- Audit as required for new hire, job change and salary actions, and termination of employment as received to the payroll department.
- Create ad-hoc reports and conduct required system audits using ADP, Kronos, and Success Factor system information; ensure all data flows accurately between said system.
- Researches, validates, and corrects employee data in payroll system delivering a high level of quality customer service. Works with department members, management, and/or employees to identify and troubleshoot issues and achieve timely resolutions.
- Monitors/responds to issues on attendance/time punching, paid time off usage and accruals, payroll and/or tax issues, benefit questions, and resolves or routes appropriately as presented via Service Now, emails, or in person support.
- Create and distribute annual payroll scheduling that identifies all standard production runs and ensures all non-scheduled payrolls are updated and completed as requested by business needs.
- Supports resolution for complex employee's state and local tax assignments.
- Support all in-bound and out-bound interfaces for Kronos, ADP, Success Factor, and other interface related systems; ensuring accuracy and compliance is maintained.
- Supervises payroll production errors and proactively identifies, corrects, and documents process improvement methods.
- Ensures all necessary updates for internal communications related to Kronos, ADP, and Success Factor as related to payroll information, training, forms, notifications, etc.
- Support system development activities and participates as needed in system testing activities for Kronos, ADP, Success Factor, and other interface related systems.
- Fulfills team lead role as designated and assigned. This includes giving directions, training, and coaching when appropriate.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education/experience required.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
- 5 years Payroll experience within a complex, high volume, multi-state payroll system required.
- 2-4 years' experience with ADP (WFN/Advantage/Enterprise) payroll.
- 2-4 years' experience of the Kronos system required.
- Thorough knowledge of HR support processes including new hire, rate changes and benefit items related to impact of the payroll function.
- Thorough knowledge of payroll processes including data entry, pay calculations, garnishments, tax set-up, benefits, multi-state taxation rules, and wage & hour laws, etc.
- Proven leadership skills with a minimum of 2 years' experience of managerial experience leading a team required.
- Proven ability to maintain accuracy and timeliness of all payroll related functions.
- Experience working with internal and external business partners to conduct or support audit activities.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively present information.
- Ability to understand, calculate, and explain complex calculations and figures.
