*Description*
TEKsystems is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to be the "go-to" person for Systems Engineering related tasks related to improving Technical Operations. This includes operating and engineering software with close business segment alignment to deliver platforms through efficient, effective, and resilient architectures. This role gives an Engineer the unique opportunity to impact the future state of our client's Infrastructure Services, Service Availability, observability tools/processes and become a decision maker immediately. Responsibilities: Provisioning and Infrastructure Management (Estimated 40%): *Provision application infrastructure modifications within AWS and on-premise environments. *Maintain Helm Charts and deployment requirements for Kubernetes (Rancher). *Script (edit or create new scripts) to automate provisioning for application deployments using Ansible, Chef, and Terraform IaC tools. Engineering Standards (40%): *Develop and maintain engineering and architectural standards for on-premise/hybrid compute, storage, and data protection services. *Ensure timely renewal of SSL Certificates across multiple domains to prevent outages. *Complete Akamai CDN implementations and updates. *Assist in the creation and documentation of day-to-day operational procedures. *Enhance service delivery for hundreds of applications. Operational Support and Troubleshooting (20%): *Troubleshoot and repair operational issues in production environments for various applications. *Triage and remediate security requirements across cloud and on-premises systems. *Prioritize issues based on severity, with P1s being the most critical, followed by P2s and P3s. *Skills* kubernetes, aws, cloud, linux, automation, Infrastructure as code, Scripting, Incident management, Technical Operations, Windows Server, Systems Engineer, Troubleshooting, Terraform, Akamai, AVI, Load Balancer, Ansible, Rancher, Observability, Kafka, GCP *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Non-Technical Skills for Cloud Engineers (absolutely must-have): *Effective Communication: oCloud Engineers must excel in both written and verbal communication. They need to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders, including technical and non-technical staff. oDuring major incident calls, they should be able to convey business issues and concerns effectively to staff, peers, superiors, and external parties. *Ownership Mindset: oCloud Engineers take ownership of their work, treating the systems they manage as if they were their own. They proactively identify issues, seek solutions, and drive improvements, demonstrating a sense of responsibility and commitment. oCloud Engineers need to balance curiosity with practicality to meet short needs & long-term organizational goals. *Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: oCloud Engineers should engage in reflective and independent thinking. Rather than passively receiving information, they actively reason and analyze situations. oDemonstrable analytical skills are essential for identifying root causes, assessing impacts, and devising effective solutions. oBalancing multiple projects and demands simultaneously, while following management guidance, is crucial. *Growth Mindset: oCloud Engineers should embrace challenges and view failures as opportunities for growth. Instead of seeing setbacks as obstacles, they use them as springboards to develop their abilities. oA growth mindset encourages continuous learning and adaptation to an ever-changing technology landscape. oExploring new programming languages, techniques, and software delivery approaches keeps them ahead of the curve. *Value-Driven Learning: oWhile passionate about learning new things, learning should align with organizational goals and contribute to better cloud solutions, rather than being purely academic. oCloud Engineers might be requested to delve beyond their immediate experience. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $84.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
