Job Responsibilities |
- Work with the Institutional Research staff to compile and coordinate the publication and distribution of the university fact book, enrollment reports, and other cyclical reports for internal campus constituents.
- Write queries and collect, validate, organize, and report a variety of institutional data and findings in the form of data tables, data visualizations, presentations and reports.
- Conduct research utilizing internet resources and national on-line databases.
- Stay informed of the current issues and methodologies in institutional research and assessment, and maintain technical skills through environmental scanning and participation in regional and national organizations, conferences and professional development workshops.
- Serve on committee, work group, or project team and contribute as an active member of the campus community.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education / Experience |
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, preferably in statistics, mathematics, or one of the social sciences.
One (1) year of related work experience. (Related work experience includes: querying databases, data cleaning and preparation, data analysis, data visualization and presentation.) |
Competencies / Skills |
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Capable of translating raw data into information and knowledge using data visualizations and reports
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with data visualization software (Cognos, etc.)
- Experience with transactional data software (Ellucian Banner ERP system, etc.)
- Experience with higher educational data platforms (SLATE, etc.)
- Proficiency with MS Office (including Access and Excel pivot tables)
- Ability to consult with end users to clarify and focus data request
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team setting
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
