Field Specialist

STV is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Field Specialist to support the delivery, inspection, and field coordination of transportation infrastructure projects for our client in the Pompano Beach, FL area. This role is key to ensuring quality control, compliance with project specifications, and coordination among field teams, contractors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of transportation systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in field-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspections and data collection on transportation construction and maintenance projects
  • Monitor contractor performance and adherence to safety, environmental, and technical standards
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction crews to support project delivery
  • Track field progress, document field conditions, and report findings to relevant teams
  • Support permitting, scheduling, and coordination activities with local and regional agencies
  • Troubleshoot site issues and assist with implementing field-level solutions
  • Maintain accurate project records, field logs, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure alignment with applicable federal transportation or other regulatory standards depending on the project scope
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specs, and field inspection tools
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in varying field conditions, including nights/weekends if required
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites regularly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and field-reporting tools (e.g., Procore, e-Builder, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with transportation projects
  • Knowledge of MUTCD, ADA, and other transportation-related standards
  • Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NICET, or ATSSA a plus
