Responsibilities

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the government space? What if you could find a position that is tailor made for your mix of development, engineering, and communication skills? That's why we need you, an experienced Senior Cloud Subject Matter Expert, to help us evaluate and guide system architectures as they evolve to commercial trends like Agile development, Cloud migration, and streamlined DevOps deployments. This is an opportunity to build your experience using the latest open source tools, trends, and techniques on technical issues supporting the mission of our Intelligence Community Customer.

Our Chief Architect team is responsible for coordinating and supporting ground requirements, CONOPS, and architectures in the remote sensing domain. This position is for a cloud architect/engineer providing Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) within our Space and Mission Engineering organization. This position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closure. The candidate will help the customer transition to acquisitions leveraging cloud implementations.

The candidate will develop strategies and transition plans to ensure customer projects comply with government cloud implementation directives, instructions, and guidance. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise and advise program managers on cloud technology specifics, including the implementation of on premise, Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Infrastructure as a Service consumption models. This includes identifying proper infrastructure approaches such as cloud, hybrid, agency unique equipment, or mission unique equipment for mission systems based on performance, cost and other factors. The candidate must be able to articulate implications of each consumption model to include budget forecasting, migration and/or modernization concerns and needs, technology evolution, and overall cloud adoption roadmaps in support of system and acquisition-level ground milestones and integration of new systems and initiatives in support of expanded GEOINT or SIGINT mission capabilities. The selected candidate will have the aptitude to provide cloud training and coaching, track and report on system and enterprise cloud and IC ITE service consumption trends and metrics, capture and make accessible cloud technology lessons learned, and assess processes and make recommendations to improve cloud implementation and cloud use efficiencies. The candidate will propose and coordinate common infrastructure services and may lead projects for systems team work, have frequent client interactions, and support system and mission strategy development across the various ground offices.

The candidate will have daily interaction with the customer and supporting contractors, and will need to follow customer standards and processes as the program matures through the life cycle. Candidate will interact with multiple Acquisition Offices (AOs) and facilitate risk and action closure with Acquisition Offices and users, and support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and support to recommendation briefings.
