DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will assist in the provision of pharmaceutical services at Southeastern Veterans' Center. Your duties will include receiving, preparing, filling, and documenting prescriptions under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. In this position, you will maintain and control the pharmacy inventory, prepare purchase requests, and maintain records of requisitions and purchases. You can expect to locate and process outdated pharmaceuticals for return to the manufacturer for credit or replacement. Additionally, you will become familiar with residents' medications histories and use reference materials to gain knowledge of product identification. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience assisting a licensed pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications in a hospital pharmacy; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
