- This position participates in designing complex, multilayer, mixed-technology, high-density, high-power electronic Printed Wiring Boards (PWB) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) that will become the client's products.
- The incumbent will be needed to design and produce final drawings and data, including Schematics, Master Patterns, Bills of Materials (BOM), and manufacturing data, which will be developed independently or in conjunction with others and will depend on schematic and PWB layout input.
- Work is generally reviewed by an engineer more senior than the incumbent.
- This position reports to an Engineering Manager and works closely with Electronic Packaging Engineering and Electrical Design Engineering specialists.
- This individual will develop printed wiring board layouts and explore possible design approaches using established drawing knowledge with business design standards.
- The PWB Design Drafter will have the latitude to make design decisions that engineers often review.
- The incumbent receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, features, and possible solutions.
- The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, internally motivated, and able to communicate clearly with others to accomplish their tasks.
- The incumbent should seek technical direction if needed.
- Duties include component placement, routing, and managing and controlling printed wiring board design files in the client CM system.
- Translation of requirements from various sources used to generate Schematics, Netlists, PWB 3D/Solid models, layouts, detailed engineering drawings, and supporting electronic data for PWB fabrication.
- In conjunction with Engineering, ensure the detailed integrity of the Schematic, PWB layout, and BOM, and Manage PWB and CCA design requirements.
- Create and check detailed drawings for completeness and accuracy, and ensure the parts list in client PLM (TeamCenter System) is accurate and complete.
- Suggests or specifies (for noncritical situations) materials to conform to the design.
- Represent client in a manner consistent with its technical reputation.
- To fulfill the demands of new product design and development, this position needs self-starting instincts.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in CAD or Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Minimum 10 years of design and drafting experience, including printed wiring board and circuit card assembly (CCA) layout using Cadence Allegro or tools and commercial standards and specifications.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in design and drafting practices, techniques, software, and tools.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in utilizing Ocad Schematic Entry and Cadence Allegro PWB.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in PWB design, stack-up, materials, and PWB technology and processing.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal PWB layout and routing design.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in PWB layout design using the Cadence Alegro tool suite.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in PCB/PWB development and PWB Engineering.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Communication skills suitable for practical oral and written dealings with the engineering staff, customers, and vendors are needed.
