The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of International Admissions Office Assistant. This position will support the International Admissions Team and prospective SNHU students through the lifecycle admissions process. The Penmen Tour Guide component of this position includes playing a crucial role in representing the university to prospective students, their families, and other visitors. This position involves providing engaging and informative tours of the campus, sharing personal experiences, and answering questions to help visitors gain a comprehensive understanding of the university's offerings, culture, and environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support International Admissions professional staff
  • Assisting team in providing customer service support to all prospective international students
  • Actively communicate with applicants throughout the admissions process
  • Other office tasks as assigned, and needed

Conduct Campus Tours:

  • Lead groups of prospective students, families, and other visitors on tours of the campus.
  • Provide detailed and accurate information about campus facilities, academic programs, student services, and campus life.
  • Tailor tours to the interests and needs of different groups.

Engage and Inform Visitors:

  • Share personal experiences and insights about being a student at SNHU
  • Answer questions from visitors in a knowledgeable and friendly manner.
  • Highlight unique aspects and strengths of SNHU

Represent the University

  • Serve as an ambassador for SNHU, embodying its values and mission.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Promote a positive image of SNHU to all visitors.

Assist with Events:

  • Assist Admission Counselors in prepping and working special events such as Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, and more.

Stay Informed:

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest information about university programs, policies, and events.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings to enhance tour guiding skills and knowledge.

Administrative Duties:

  • Assist with administrative tasks related to office projects and event preparation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a SNHU degree program
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and able to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the university's campus, programs, services, and student life.
  • Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
  • Enthusiasm: Passionate about the university and eager to share that enthusiasm with others.

Work Environment:

This position involves significant walking and outdoor activity in various weather conditions. Tours may require standing and speaking for extended periods. Average weekly hours range from 15-20 hours / week

    Compensation

    The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
