Finance Manager who directs, leads and oversees financial management for Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health with a primary focus on research supporting 24 existing Principal Investigators with over $60M in research awards and any new Principal investigators; also includes academic and physician practice functions in College of Medicine (COM), OSU Physician's (Group Practice Plan - OSUP) Faculty Group Practice (FGP); drives efficiency and other financial initiatives; directs, leads, and oversees financial management for assigned departments to optimize financial resources to meet departmental missions and objectives; incorporates future projections into those for Hospital and College; manages faculty compensation plans; plans, creates and prepares annual operating budgets and makes fiscal projections for operations and staffing requirements for departmental and research programs in consultation with department administration; allocates and administers approved budgets; develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure appropriate fiscal management of funds; implements and oversees financial and operational processing environment to ensure adherence to established internal control structures including segregation of duties in processing of all financial transactions; works directly with Department Chair(s) to sustain the high growth rate in research while maintaining overall departmental financial health; reports to Department Administrator with accountability to the Executive Vice Chair and Chair. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred; preferably within a research or hospital setting. Experience with Grants management desired. |
