This opportunity is in the Claims department.

Our Claims Department oversees both high-exposure workers' compensation and liability claims. As an unbundled carrier, we work actively with third-party administrators (TPAs) and self-administered accounts to assist in guiding claims to a successful resolution. As an excess carrier, the catastrophic claims we handle keep our group challenged, but the uniqueness provides plenty of growth opportunities.

Role Description:

Do you thrive on leading high-performing teams, building process efficiencies, and influencing organizational outcomes? As Assistant Vice President, Liability Claims, you'll take the helm of our liability claims operation, managing a team of Managing Directors and shared services professionals. You'll provide strategic oversight of liability claims from intake through resolution, while ensuring compliance, quality assurance, and optimal collaboration with our TPAs. This is your opportunity to shape claim strategy, manage high-exposure cases, support TPA performance, and spearhead initiatives that optimize data, analytics, and process standards. You'll work cross-functionally with departments such as Underwriting, Client Engagement, Risk Control, Reinsurance, and Finance to ensure service excellence and successful outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President of Liability Claims, you'll help set the standard for operational leadership and innovation in claim management.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.

All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in multi-jurisdictional liability claims adjusting and litigation management with a primary insurance carrier and/or Third-Party Administrator.

  • Experience adjusting Commercial Auto and General Liability Claims.

  • Experience analyzing coverage issues and drafting reservation of rights and coverage letters.
