The Columbia Center for Translational Immunology is seeking a highly motivated Staff Associate I to support innovative research in the Nowak Lab, with a focus on immune tolerance and chimerism induction. This role is ideal for candidates eager to gain hands-on experience in translational immunology and contribute to impactful scientific discoveries. The Staff Associate I will perform a wide range of cellular and molecular assays, including blood and tissue processing, sterile cell culture techniques, mixed lymphocyte reactions (MLR), ELISpot, flow cytometry (FACS), and PCR. Responsibilities include conducting rigorous validation and quality control of all experiments, maintaining detailed and accurate laboratory documentation, and coordinating day-to-day inventory and supply orders in compliance with Columbia University's procurement policies. The candidate will also collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to develop and refine experimental protocols, contribute to independent subprojects, assist fellow lab members as needed, and actively participate in lab meetings, troubleshooting sessions, and ongoing optimization of research techniques. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline. Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience with advanced cellular assays, flow cytometry, animal experiments, histopathology (IF, IHC), antibody isolation, and high-throughput assays.
