The UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a full time, motivated professional for the position of Clinical Instructor/Clinical Pharmacist who will be assigned to UI Health's Hospital Pharmacy Services. This position is a day rotating position in a 24/7 Hospital Pharmacy. The Retzky College of Pharmacy, with campuses in Chicago and Rockford, is the #1 college of pharmacy in the state of Illinois and #9 in total research grant funding, according to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). Duties: The Clinical Instructor/ Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate and efficient review and verification of physicians' medication orders, reconciliation of medications utilized in surgical cases, and works with health care providers and patients to resolve any medication issues. Responsibilities of this position also include ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met, directing the activities performed by pharmacy technicians, serving as a resource for the medical and nursing staffs for medication-related questions. Clinical Instructor academic responsibilities include the provision of didactic teaching and clinical experiential teaching/training in the College of Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy Program and precepting of PGY1 and PGY2 residents. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an ACPE accredited PharmD program. Must present evidence of, or eligibility for, Illinois licensure as a pharmacist by hire date. Clinical experience and practice involving contemporary hospital pharmacy services. Candidates must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for an academic faculty position in Pharmacy Practice, UIC College of Pharmacy. Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency. Inpatient pharmacy experience, excellent interpersonal skills, energetic can do' attitude and proven record of positive interactions with other pharmacists, technicians, nurses and physicians. Experience in the safe handling and preparation of IV admixtures and chemotherapy; compounding knowledge and skills are a plus.
