Soldering Technician Category: Life Science Employment Type: Contract To Hire Reference: BH-384241 Yoh is seeking an experienced Soldering Technician with solid industry experience and a background in mechanical assembly to join our startup med device client in the East Bay. The ideal candidate has experience in industries such as aerospace, medical device manufacturing, biotechnology, or mechanical fields. The Soldering Technician will be responsible for assembling and soldering electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with technical drawings, assembly instructions, and quality standards and The position follows all applicable California workplace standards, including safety regulations. Position Title: Soldering Technician Location: Pleasanton, CA Compensation:$30-35/hour DOE Type: Contract to hire, (perm based on performance) Hours: 8AM - 5PM Responsibilities: Perform hand soldering of through-hole and surface mount components (SMT) on PCBs. Inspect solder joints to ensure compliance with IPC standards. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings. Operate soldering equipment, rework stations, and microscopes. Perform touch-up, rework, and repair on PCBs as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S practices. Document production and quality control data as required. Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to resolve assembly issues. Ensure adherence to safety and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols. Perform small assembly work. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred. 1-3 years of experience in soldering electronic components. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards (certification is a plus). Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Familiarity with SMT and through-hole technology. Ability to use basic inspection tools (e.g., magnifiers, microscopes). Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Work Environment: Manufacturing floor with exposure to soldering fumes (protective measures provided). Requires sitting or standing for extended periods. Use of hand tools, tweezers, and magnification devices is frequent.
